ZERBIN is a Canadian band named for its front man and chief songwriter, Jason Zerbin and comprised of Jeremy De- hek, Andrew Hochalter, Peter Mol and Nick West; along with a family of other musicians who step in to fill out the lay- ers of rich melody and moving rhythm. Their debut LP, 2010’s “Of Fools And Gold”, boasts melodic and symphonic alternative rock, with tracks like “In Your Arms” and “Fools and Gold” capturing fans the world over by offering a musical journey playing on “the tensions of love.” Pulsing melodies and clever writing in tracks such as “Hear Me” and “Here On The Edge” create vibes easy to lose yourself in. Though garnishing choruses with pop accessibility the band still manages to skillfully provide lyrical and musical moments of deep emotion and spirituality.




Zerbin’s music has peaked the interest of talent scouts and major label executive across North America and landed them a nomination for the CGMA’s Best New Artist of the Year award. The group has also received nods from the realm of film and television with music appearing in both independent and large-scale productions, including “Going the Distance” staring Justin Long and Drew Barrymore.


As passionate songwriters with a seemingly endless flow of songs, Zerbin feels as though they are just getting started. The band has shared bills with a myriad of national and international acts (TenSecondEpic, Leeland, TFK), bringing their fresh lyrics, soaring vocals and brilliant blend of expansive soundscapes to festivals, cathedrals and clubs across North America. Described as "Whiskey-fueled Folk Rock anthems for people who like to party," Owls By Nature puts on an amazing live show. Since their inception in April 2010, Owls By Nature have been ruffling feathers, making audiences and well-established local acts sit up and take notice. Consisting of Ian MacIntosh (Vocals/ guitar) Sean Hamilton (Bass/ vocals) and Cory D. (Banjo/ Vocals) they have their own unique brand of folk rock, that brings energy and stage presence that invigorates any crowd. Following the huge success of their sold out debut album release party at one of Edmonton's premiere live music venues, they have already begun pre-production on their 2nd album. Also, they have solidified multiple dates on a cross Canadian tour. Lofty and ambitious goals for certain, but these boys are ready to go the distance.

If you ever wanted a reason not to feed the plants, you will find it in this darkly comedic musical about Seymour Krelborn and his unfortunate relationship with Audrey II, a flesh eating, blood-sucking plant with sinister plans for branching out to seek world domination. The Collective West is comprised of four talented artists of diverse backgrounds-- musical or otherwise. The project was born out of the collaboration of two already established artists; one a roots-folk singer-songwriter and another of a metal background—coming together to form a distinct sound. From them, you are as likely to hear a gentle, audience-silencing ballad as you are to hear a bold, provoking rock tune or a Kanye West cover. Yet, their sound manages to be cohesive, consistent and true to every member’s background no matter how distinct, and it is evident from their live performances that the band is passionate about their music, performances, audiences and their bonds with one another.
Erin Faught, raised in Beaumont, Alberta, is the group’s female vocalist, banjo player and contributing guitarist. Through a mutual gig in Edmonton, Erin was introduced to Alexander Klassen. Alexander’s musical foundations were in metal music.

The Collective West’s music is truly unique and captivating. Since their formation, The Collective West has already opened for well known local acts 100 mile house and Jeff Morris, played an Edmonton Arts Show for the Common Ground Society and is the winner of the Arusha Song for Social Justice Prize at the Calgary Folk Music Festival's Ship and Anchor Songwriting Competition. They are in the process of completing a full-length album; produced and recorded entirely by Alexander, set to be released on June 18th to the anticipation of a quickly growing fan base.

Paul Bellows: if Elvis Costello had grown up on the canadian Prairies listening to Gordon Lightfoot.

Paul has released three recordings over the last 8 years, "Juliet Pauses" which was chosen as a Top 12 DIY record by Performing Songwriter Magazine in 1998, and "Like He's Famous", released by Cake Records in 2001. Paul's most recent recording, "Tape Deck Classics" (2005) ran in the Top 30 on more than 25 Top 200 CMJ stations across the US and Canada.

Paul's music has been featured on national and provincial CBC radio, commercial stations, university and public radio all over North America. Paul has been featured on "Richardson's Roundup", CBC's national afternoon show.

Paul has toured from coast to coast in Canada and through the northern US as a solo artist and with a band.

Paul bowls weekly at the Plaza Lanes with "The Black Squares" - the least consistent team in the league. Always 5-pin, because it's the Canadian game.

Trying to define a teenager isn't always easy. French Canadian singer-songwriter Mae Anderson is no exception. But if you really wanted to try to in a nutshell, put together her Edmonton-based nativity and determination to pursue her music and happiness in life. That would basically sum her up.


Mae has been on stage since the age of three. A free-spirited child, she performed her first songs to an audience after wandering off into the crowd at a dinner when her parents weren't looking. She got up in front of everyone and sang Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and her ABC's. Since that day, it was obvious to her loved ones that she would end up choosing music as her life-long career and become an accomplished artist. We featured Mae's song Rainy Day.

Christian Hansen & the Autistics were formed in the Fall of 2007 in Edmonton Alberta Canada. After playing many local shows, doing a Canadian tour, rocking the CBC and playing New Music West, they wanted to dance. So, they destroyed their acoustic guitars and drum kits, did the Wild Rose cleanse, watched the Breakfast Club and wrote a bunch of new songs designed to make people move. Quickly gaining a reputation as one of Edmonton's best live acts (all 4 members have Performing Arts degrees), Christian Hansen & the Autistics put on a show that entertains and inspires, appealing to both the Richard Simmons and Jello Biafra in everyone. They were showcased at the SLED ISLAND music festival, rocking with such excellent acts as Andrew WK, The Breeders, Japanther and Wood Pigeon .

Christian Hansen & the Autistics were named "Band of the Month" by Edmonton's Sonic 102.9 FM, had 2008’s “Song of the Year” (Edmonton Journal) for Cocaine Trade and were nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 2009 Verge XM awards. Their songs Cocaine Trade and Pump it are played on Sonic 102.9 FM and CityTV will air ‘The Making Of: Cocaine Trade Music Video” in October 2009.
