  • YEG Fall/Pre-Winter Fashion Show is held in support of women and children's local shelters on October 16th 7pm @ the Empire Ballroom

  • LitFest: Edmonton's Nonfiction Festival October 14 - 25
    •  LitFest supports Story Slam this Fall. Story Slam is a monthly storytelling competition at The Haven Social Club that features new work by a diverse group of Edmonton authors. Ten original stories stir the adrenalin then five audience members select the evenings best. The atmosphere is fierce yet celebratory. October 20th, 7pm @ The Haven Social Club
    • Ezra Levant and Satya Das have two starkly different perspectives on Alberta's oilsands development.  The two men square off, and invite the audience to join in the discussion at City Centre Mall on October 19th, 12pm @ CBC Centre Stage in City Centre Mall
    • Nonfiction Writer Jam will be hosted by Carol Holmes of the Writers Guild of Alberta. It is presented in partnership with the Writers Guild of Alberta and the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association. October 23rd at noon @ Milner Library Theatre, 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square
  • The Gizmo Guys @ Maclab Theatre onOctober 17th 2pm $10 - Performing as the Gizmo Guys, Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker have amazed and amused audiences around the world. They have made numerous television appearances, won international juggling competitions, and taught at top circus schools, but what makes their act so appealing is their uniquely winning combination of dazzling technique and infectious humour. The Gizmo Guys' rapid-fire act exhilarates and inspires sidesplitting laughter in audience members of all ages.

FEATURE ARTIST
This week's feature artists is eigtheen-year old Alee, aka Alexanda Adomoski.  She is a young artist on the rise with performances and accolades which span Edmonton's Winspear Stage backed by the celebrity David Foster Band, gala charities, and reaching beyond the local music scene as a finalist in past/current songwriter competitions in the 2009 and 2010 Calgary Folk fest, south to Nashville, TN and a multiple award winner at a North American Music showcase as well as numerous local/surrounding area performance venues, including her fourth year at Big Valley Jamboree. The latest of many dreams, soon to be realized, is the recording of her first full-length album, with producer/roots artist Bobby Cameron. Alee has a show @ Axis Cafe on December 4th! Get your E-TICKETS! *Correction - we said December 18th by accident in the podcast but it is DECEMBER 4TH. Mark your calendars!
